Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the community and share your passion for a good cause. It’s also good for your heart! Volunteers are needed on our Board of Directors and Special Event Planning Committees. The Hope also accepts college students who need to complete a summer internship.
Volunteer Positions
Outreach Advocate Team Lead
Role: Further the depth of The Hope Heart Institute’s outreach by providing exceptional leadership in managing volunteer support for events and spreading the message of heart-health awareness. Characterize a model of The Hope Heart Institute and be able to serve as an informational resource to community members and volunteers.
Community Outreach Advocate
Role: Advocate for The Hope Heart Institute’s mission of healthy living and heart-health awareness by providing support at public community events by interacting with the public and encouraging healthy habits through use of Hope Heart educational materials, games and resources.
Educational Outreach Advocate
Role: Serve at a variety of school-related outreach events through collaboration with The Hope Heart Institute’s Kids Take Heart TM Program. Provide age-appropriate educational material and games to encourage our mission of “healthy eating, active living” to children and families.
Health & Wellness Support
(Including: Nurses & nursing students, trained blood pressure personnel, Speakers Bureau Members, nutritionists, fitness  instructors, etc)
Role: Provide essential health-related services to a diversity of individuals and provide timely information on accurate health measurements and information.
Hope Heart Volunteer
Role: Provide valuable support to the work and mission of The Hope Heart Institute by helping Hope Heart Institute staff with a variety of office/administrative support, including Youth Take Heart TM and Kids Take Heart TM kit refurbishment, preparing educational materials, and clinical office assistance.

Summer Internships
2013 Clinical Research Internship
The Hope Heart Institute’s Clinical Research Interns are passionate individuals with the goal to further their knowledge and exposure within Cardiovascular Clinical Research. Clinical Research Interns help support The Hope’s busy cardiovascular research program by working directly with Research Coordinators in clinical sites. The Hope Heart Institute conducts clinical research through industry trials aimed at testing new medications, devices and treatment methods to improve the overall standard of care in the treatment of heart disease. 2013 Community Outreach Internship
The Hope Heart Institute’s Community Outreach Interns are mission-focused individuals and have a passion to further heart-health outreach and awareness throughout local communities. Community Outreach Interns will work closely with The Hope’s Education and Outreach Teams to further enhance and supplement current outreach efforts. Interns will also receive exposure executing large community outreach events and support The Hope’s Public Relations and Development efforts. Click here for more information & how to apply.
